This 5-night, 6-day Mexico City itinerary explores independent, artisan, and vintage fashion through the lens of Mexico City. We’ll explore the capital's fashion-forward neighborhoods—such as Roma, Condesa, and Juárez—visiting local boutiques and ateliers alongside historic landmarks and museums, including Frida Kahlo's iconic home and bustling artisan markets. The journey focuses heavily on hands-on experiences, featuring a custom leather-making workshop and an optional Sunday trip to a famous local flea market.
It would not be Mexico City without a culinary adventure. Culinary discovery is woven throughout the week, culminating in an immersive, hands-on cooking class on Sunday afternoon where travelers learn to prepare traditional Mexican dishes from scratch before enjoying their creations as a farewell dinner. With private transfers and built-in leisure time, the trip offers an insider's look into the creative pulse, rich heritage, and vibrant culture that define the city.
The trip is designed to coincide with Mexico City Art Week, happening February 3-7. Every February, Mexico City transforms into one of the Americas' most dynamic cultural destinations. Mexico City Art Week brings together serious collectors, curators, and cultural figures from across the hemisphere for five days of exhibitions, fairs, and events concentrated across the city's most storied neighborhoods.

Arrival at Mexico City International Airport and private individual transfers to the hotel. One of the largest and most creative capitals in the Americas, the city blends pre-Hispanic roots, colonial grandeur and a contemporary design and dining scene that drives this itinerary. The afternoon is at leisure to settle in and adjust to the 2,240 m elevation.

A fashion-focused walking tour through the city's most design-driven neighborhoods, beginning in Roma and Condesa — leafy, walkable districts of Art Deco and Porfirian architecture, tree-lined avenues and the green heart of México. The route takes in concept stores, independent boutiques and ateliers of contemporary Mexican designers, with the context of how this corridor became the center of the country's modern fashion and lifestyle scene. Colonia Juárez adds galleries, design showrooms and a denser cluster of emerging labels. The afternoon is left at leisure for shopping, cafés or a return to favorite stops followed by dinner at a local restaurant.

A morning in the historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built over the ancient Aztec capital, featuring the grand central plaza, the historic cathedral, and sacred temple ruins. The tour includes the city's premier folk art museum, showcasing an incredible collection of traditional folk art — textiles, alebrijes, ceramics, and the stories of the artisans behind them.
The day continues with a hands-on purse-making workshop in a local leatherworking district, where participants work alongside master craftsmen to design and construct a leather bag of their own using locally sourced materials. A direct, maker-to-visitor experience that beautifully ties craft to commerce.

A day in the city's most atmospheric southern neighborhoods, starting at the famous cobalt-blue home where one of Mexico's most iconic artists was born, lived, and worked, now a museum of her art, belongings and world. Coyoacán's plazas, markets and cafés make the area worth lingering in.
The afternoon moves to San Ángel for the Saturday art and crafts market set around a colonial square, with painting, jewelry, textiles and design from across the country. A strong pairing of art history and a living artisan market.

Morning at leisure.
As an option (($95 payable during the trip), a tour of a market in the north of the historic center of Mexico City, known above all for its Sunday flea market, where antiques, second-hand goods, coins, books and collectibles are laid out along the surrounding streets, alongside the market's permanent halls for food, clothing and household goods.
In the afternoon, a hands-on cooking class works with Mexican ingredients and techniques to prepare a full menu, from the base preparations of salsas and masa to the finished dishes, followed by dinner of what has been cooked which will serve as our farewell event.

Time for a final coffee or short walk before the private individual transfer to Mexico City International Airport, timed to the departure flight, closing a route built around the city's fashion, folk art, local legacy and cuisine.

Cancellation policy:
Trip payment is due by 11:59 pm MST December 05, 2026. Cancellation must be received in writing. The following cancellation terms apply. No refunds are made for late cancellations, no-shows, or unused services during this trip. Travel delays, trip cancellations, trip interruptions, loss of property, and medical services will not be reimbursed and must be submitted to passenger's travel insurance for claims. Compass and Globe Travel, LLC, and Hola Colega are not held liable for any aforementioned incidents and recommend passengers purchase appropriate travel insurance.
A $400 deposit is nonrefundable. In addition, if cancellation notice is received, the following terms apply:
Before October 6, 2026: full refund of balance paid, less deposit.
Between October 6 and December 15, 2026: 50% refund of balance paid, less deposit.
After December 15, 2026: no refund.
